2004 -
In March of 2004, Brian Anthony stepped into a ring for the first time. After searching interminably
for a place to begin training to fulfill his dream, Brian found Jason Knight's Powerstation Pro-Wrestling
Dojo, located in Waterbury Connecticut. After meeting with Jason, Anthony began training the very
next day. Brian trained 3 to 4 days a week from March through August when Jason Knight put him
into the ring for the first time in front of a live crowd at the Assault Championship Wrestling 106.9
Rock Expo. pitted against "The Brazillian Shooter" Del Tsunami. (Tsunami victorious via submission).
After his first taste of competition Brian went back to the powerstation Dojo, and trained harder than ever,
leading into his second pro-show which was Assault Championship Wrestling's "The Awakening" at
Riders Cafe in Waterbury, CT on October 10, 2004. This day was set to be a rematch between Brian
Anthony and Del Tsunami. About 8 minutes into the match Anthony was hit with a hard clothesline
from Tsunami which in turn, broke his jaw in 3 places. Brian got up, finished the match and lost after
a burning hammer from Del. Immediately following the match, Anthony was sent to St. Mary's hospital
in Waterbury, CT where they determined the extent of the breakage and how much surgery would be
required to fix it. On October 11th Brian's jaw was wired shut, and it would be almost 6 months until
he stepped into the ring again.
2005 -
In March of 2005, Brian Anthony returned to the ring after extensive surgery to repair his jaw. Upon
his return he found himself wrestling in Brooklyn, NY as part of a 3 way dance tag team match, just
one year after beginning his training. By This point Jason Knight's powerstation Dojo had shut its doors
and Anthony's connection to the wrestling world was diminishing.
Towards the end of 2005, during intermission at a local Independent show, fate came to the rescue.
Brian was approached by two students of the Paul Roma wrestling Academy (Chris and Anthony Battle).
After speaking with Paul, Brian began training again that same week. After about two months of training
at Paul's wrestling school Anthony stepped back into the competitive light and began working for Defiant
Pro Wrestling for the remainder of the year.
2006 -
Brian Anthony continues to train at Paul Roma's wrestling school, and considers finding Paul a gift.
He has given Brian not only the skills needed to stay safe in wrestling and keep others safe, but he has also
taught respect both in and out of the locker room. Brian debuted for Connecticut Championship Wrestling
(CCW) On February 25th, 2006. Brian went on to open the show with a win over Frankie Arion.
Throughout the remainder of 2006, Brian continued on a path of winning ways in CCW, even capturing the
"Northeast Championship" in a triple threat ladder match in June. Concreting a spot in CCW led Brian to
obtain more notoriety, and open eyes of other promoters. One of the most memorable moments for Anthony
in 2006 would be a road trip he took with Paul Roma to South Bend, Indiana, where he wrestled, and
obtained a victory over Christopher Battle of the Arc-Angles.
2007 -
2007 started off better than Brian could have possibly ever imagined. In February, he was booked for his
first Northeast Wrestling (NEW) show. The show was scheduled for March 16th, in Danbury CT, just one
town over from Brian's home in Bethel. Unfortunately, the largest snow storm of the season hit, causing the
show to be delayed until April 27th. Because of the delay, Anthony made his NEW debut in Bristol, CT on
April 22nd, wrestling Jason Blade, and sharing a locker room that evening with stars such as: Kurt Angle,
Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, Joey Mercury, and Jay Lethal among others! Later on that week, Brian wrestled
for Northeast Wrestling in Danbury Connecticut in front of a hometown crowd, which was easily the greatest
night of his career up to that point. Brian was lucky enough to compete on every NEW show for the
remainder of the year, which was a career achievement.. 2007 has been a year of incredible ups and downs.
The biggest downfall of the year came with the passing of his father on May 8th. Despite the loss, Brian's
career has continued on the up swing. Aside from beginning a career in Northeast Wrestling, which has
clearly been the highest point of the year, Brian has also enjoyed success in the upstart "Power and Glory"
promotion run out of CT. While working for PGW Brian once again began carrying the CCW Northeast Title
which was re-instated to be defended at PGW shows due to the closing of Connecticut Championship
Wrestling. In November, in front of nearly 3,000 fans in Scranton, PA Brian teamed up with Romeo Roselli
and Ricky Landell in a triple threat match against WWE Legend Sgt. Slaughter and 2 partners. At the end
of the night, Anthony fell victim to the "slaughter cannon" and the "Cobra Clutch!"
2008 -
Brian started 2008 by winning his second piece of gold. On Jan. 12, Brian became the New England Pro
Wrestling "New England Champion." Brian has continued on with a career goal of being a part of Northeast
Wrestling in 2008, competing on numerous shows. Working in NEW throughout 2008 has allowed Brian to
compete with the likes of former ECW superstar Julio Dinero, "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal and WWE
Legend "Rowdy" Roddy Piper! April proved to be a memorable month for Brian, as he made his first appearance
with the WWE! For 2 days Brian was brought in as "Extra talent" and was featured on a WWE.com episode of
"The Dirt Sheet" starring John Morrison and The Miz! April also saw the CCW Northeast Title become unified
with the new PGW "North American Title" when Brian defeated Kid Mikaze. In June, Brian would go on to
retain the "North American Title" after dropping an elbow off the top of a steel cage while competing in his first
ever steel cage match! In July, Brian was once again brought to WWE as "Extra Talent", this time being used
in a photo shoot for a WWE magazine article featuring Shelton Benjamin. Brian would wind up appearing in
the WWE "best of 2008" Magazine issue. August of 2008 would also prove to be a successful month, as Brian
would win his first 2 "heavyweight" titles. On 8-8-08 Brian would become the first ever Wild World of
Wrestling heavyweight Champion, and on 8-23-08 Brian would capture the UFO Wrestling heavyweight
Championship. Brian closed out the year in tremendous fashion. First competing at Power and Glory
Wrestling "Fight Before Christmas." Brian Anthony faced off against CT veteran Kurt Adonis in a match that
would have both the PGW Championship, and the PGW North American titles on the line. At the end of the
night, Brian walked away from East Haven, CT holding both titles. To finish off the year, Brian competed in
Waterbury CT, against former NEW Champion Ron Zombie. Ron, being a Waterbury native had the home
advantage, but in the end, it was Brian who walked out of Waterbury victorious.
